Grants may be needed for external or internal funding from the government, not-for-profit and private sectors. While they may vary in length and scope, the basic principles are the same, and receiving grant funding is essential if you want a career as a research scientist. Read more

This may be the only information people read, so don’t underestimate its importance! Sativus Workshops are tailored sessions for large groups of people (> 7) to provide a high-level overview of key aspects of the Sativus Gems professional development program. They can be held over multiple, consecutive days and include interactive components to enhance the learning experience.

If people can’t find, understand or use the results of your science, then the impact of your science is significantly decreased. ‘Extension’ is the process of providing information in a way that enables people to use science outcomes to change practise. This leads to ‘adoption’ which is when practise change has actually occurred – the ultimate measure of science impact. Sometimes, extension and adoption take the form of commercialisation. Not all projects will have immediately adoptable outcomes and outputs, but it is important to build the pathways early to improve opportunities and enhance the impact of science. Read more
