Teaching the world’s next generation of scientists and innovators is a rewarding job that is integral to society. Equipping grade 10, 11 and 12 students with the real-world skills they need to have a successful career in science, technology, engineering or math prepares students for higher learning in these fields. This Workshop provides professional development for high school STEM teachers as part of the STEM GEMS program, which aims to enhance scientific literacy of students, while also upskilling their teachers.
These Workshops are tailored sessions for large groups of people (> 7) to provide a high-level overview of key aspects of the Sativus GEMS professional development program. They can be held over multiple, consecutive days and include interactive components to enhance the learning experience.
A Sativus Workshop is useful when needing to rapidly improve a skillset in a short period of time. This Workshop is ideal for high school teachers who have students with a growing passion for science, technology, engineering and math and want to create a career within those fields.
Sativus Workshops will rapidly increase your knowledge and skills through team-based learning and understanding of the skills needed to teach successful scientists. This Workshop will equip you with project-based learning curricula to enhance your students’ secondary education by applying their knowledge and understanding of STEM concepts to work on real-world projects.
This Sativus Workshop will cover how to teach your students:
